Ok, I'm not quite foaming at the mouth anymore, but I'm still pretty pissed. And Goddess help whatever moron at work decides to repeat any of the shit they said last week. Specifially, either one of the two first shift dispatchers, the terminal manager, the second shift dock supervisor, or any one of the idiot delivery/pickup drivers.
I did find some articles in the local paper with some good quotes. And I noticed through my normal lurking state that I'm not the only one to post at least one of them. S'ok though. The link to the article is below the quote, cause I haven't bothered to figure out some of the html of livejournal. :P
In actual good news, I'll finally be able to watch the rest of the episodes of Lost. That makes me happy. Getting up at 8am to get to Best Buy by 9am didn't....since Best Buy didn't open until 10. Fuckers.

"Bureaucracy has murdered people in the greater New Orleans area. And bureaucracy needs to stand trial before Congress today," Aaron Broussard, president of Jefferson Parish, said on CBS' "The Early Show."

"So I'm asking Congress, please investigate this now. Take whatever idiot they have at the top of whatever agency and give me a better idiot. Give me a caring idiot. Give me a sensitive idiot. Just don't give me the same idiot."

"One of the things people want us to do here is play the blame game," he said. "We got to solve problems. There will be ample time to figure out what went right and what went wrong."

Louisiana's Jefferson Parish is desperate for relief, but parish President Aaron Broussard says officials of the Federal Emergency Management Agency turned back three semi-trucks of water, ordered the Coast Guard not to provide emergency diesel fuel and cut emergency power lines.

And then some lovely stuff from the editorial section. I took out the names, just to be polite.

Thanks, Bush

I think we all owe President George W. Bush a big thank you for diverting funds which were meant to go to shoring up the levees around New Orleans for his war in Iraq.

If he had listened to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers about the levees and not allowed the draining of natural wetlands for development, this situation would not be as bad as it is now.

He was warned this was going to happen, but war with Iraq was more important.

Bush couldn't even be bothered to stop his vacation as soon as it became evident what was happening, he had to make a speech in favor of his war.

Better planning

A real president would have planned ahead instead of cutting New Orleans' levee-building budget. A real president wouldn't have been on vacation during a national crisis.

It's time to elect a real Congress in 2006 that will hold President Bush accountable for his incompetence.

Yes, put some liberals in charge. How could they do worse?
