I can't say what the most important lesson is, all I can share is one thing she taught me.
She taught me to always stand up for myself. I may not always choose to do so, picking my battles and all that, but the lesson is there and it shows. My boss, who is quitting and moving to Florida, told me that I have too much of a spine. He said it as a bad thing, but I refuse to see it that way. Having that much of a spine means that I will not be a doormat for anyone, unless I so choose to be. I know I can thank my family for being the same way and helping me develop that spine, intentionally or not, but most of all I can thank my Mom.
She drives me absolutely insane and some days I would cheerfully strangle her, but I wouldn't trade her in for anything. ♥
