Apr. 10th, 2009 02:28 pmWe still haven't gotten word from the vet about the pathologist, but I'm choosing to hope for the best here. There are probably many things that can cause swelling in the lymph nodes, so I'm hoping that I will be able to call our current vet an idiot. A family member of mine (who used to work for our vet) does not have a very high opinion of him, and has said more than once that he's an idiot.
Depending on what the results are, we are planning to get a second opinion from a vet that comes high recommended. I've also seen his work firsthand, which is a plus.
The results from his blood work did come back, and they said Harley is a little anemic, and that there was a small change in his liver, but that it could be anything. I've been trying to keep a very close eye on him, and he seems to be doing okay. He's being his normal self, waking me up early and everything. :) (though the way he's lying under the computer desk makes it awkward for me, and is making my foot go to sleep)
At least the people I work with have had the good grace and tact not to say anything crude or crass about this. They aren't known for their tact or anything, and would usually bug the hell out of me or make fun of me for being a trainwreck over an animal, but they've had the sense to leave me alone. For once. Mark it on the freaking calendar.
And my aunt was right....my mom is almost treating Harley like he's dead and buried already, cause here she is, asking my brother about puppies that his dog just had. I understand that if the worst comes to pass, she thinks that our other dog will need a companion, but I really don't think that getting another dog will help matters any. She isn't taking into consideration that we may not be ready to get another dog....maybe she might be, but I doubt I would be.
