While I didn't see the post you were referring to, and have no idea what it was about, I do think that you are right.  There was probably a purpose for whatever it was, and it will eventually make itself known.  That's the way it usually works, I think.  Don't quote me on it, because that may not be the way that it works for everybody.
On that note, I definitely hope that you enjoy the holidays.
