The rules are simple. Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and than pass out letters to those who want to play along.
J is for . . .
1) Johnny Depp. This man is an absolute god. I adore his movies, and the odd sense of style that he sometimes has. I've always had the impression that he has a lot of class, and is a gentleman to boot. Doesn't hurt that he is extremely easy on my eyes.
2) Jealous. This is something that I try really hard not to be. I used to be really bad about it when I was younger, though it was more in the elementary school sense of "you stole my friend!" I still try to avoid being it whenever I can. It causes a lot of problems if I don't. (see Appendix A: Former Relationships) :-P
3) Jaws. One of the only movies to actually scare me a bit as a little kid. I remember being afraid that the shark was lurking under my bed. But I got over it. Where some people became scared of sharks because of this movie and/or book, I became fascinated. It's a fascination that has stuck with me ever since. I'm pretty sure that I can recite bits and pieces of the movie. It remains my favorite movie ever. With LOTR coming in a very close second. My only beef is that they should have stopped at two.
4) Jonathan Brandis. Ah, first crushes! I remember perving over him like mad. Of course, we didn't call it perving back then. At least I didn't. I used to have a "shrine" of pictures up on my wall. I couldn't watch some episodes of SeaQuest DSV without squealing. I was extremely sad when I found out that he died.
5) Jason. Of the Friday the 13th variety. At one point in time the Friday the 13th series of movies was my obsession of sorts. And then Freddy took over. The series got very redundant after about five of them, I know that now, but when I was a kid, I couldn't get enough.
6) Jurassic Park. I remember going to see this in the theater with my parents and my best friend. It was just after the county fair, and I was wearing this ridiculously colored cowboy hat...that had a feather in the front. Seriously. It was purple, blue and pink. Wtf was I thinking?? I was thrilled with the roar of the T.Rex, and jumped along with everyone else when a Velociraptor's head came up through the ceiling. Movie bliss. And a younger Jeff Goldblum. Guh. *sighs* Strangely enough, I get watery-eyed these days during certain parts. O_o
7) Joel. This is the dock supervisors' name. If he is at work, it is almost a complete guarantee that I will laugh my ass off. He's done some horribly scary things, like singing Ice, Ice Baby and doing a little dance to it If it weren't for his antics, I don't know that I would enjoy my job as much as I do (most days).
8) Judgemental. This is something else I try to avoid being. I'm not always successful. But I try really hard, because I don't like it when people do it to me.
9) Jabberwocky. This poem comes from one of my favorite books. I remember reading this out loud with a partner in my high school drama class while kind of acting it out at the same time.
10) Jetsams. I used to, and still occasionally do, play Neopets. This type of neopet was kind of given to me by someone who was dear to me at the time. He was one of the ones who helped to talk me out of my funks....providing he wasn't in one of his at the time. We lost touch a long time ago, but I still wonder what he's been up to, and if he ever found what he was looking for.
I think Naamah had one of the easy ones. O_o
