Does anyone else think this is sick?
Jun. 9th, 2006 02:53 pmI thought I'd post today about a new video game. It's not one that I've bought, or one that I will ever even consider buying. You know all the hubbub about Mortal Kombat and other violent video games that teach kids how to kill people and such? This one does the exactly same thing. yet there doesn't seem to be as much opposition to it. Why? Because it's marketed by Christians. It's based on a series of popular books. The title is Left Behind: Eternal Forces.
From what I understand, it's based in NYC. You can play as the left-behinders, whose job it is to convert the hysterical New Yorkers during the End times, and if they refuse to convert or want to remain neutral, then you get to shoot and kill them. You are given access to all sorts of military weaponry to accomplish this. Your main enemy is the armies of the Anti-Christ, which includes the UN....who sends peacekeeping missions.
Or....you can choose to play as being in the armies of the Anti-Christ, unleashing demons and all sorts of other goodies upon the Bible-thumpers.
I think I know which side I would pick. ;-)
Here's an article about it.
And here.
And a post at Blondesense about it.
Just one more instance of the religious right (like the ones that run our country) spewing their hate onto everyone else.
It makes me sick to seem them marketing something like this. Mortal Kombat warps childrens' minds, but this is ok? Don't think so!!
And a bit of good news: my car is fixed, and I am mobile once again!! w00t!
