Peter Benchley dies at 65

I was a fan of some of his novels, most notably Jaws, and I admired the work that he did trying to undo the damage that Jaws ended up causing, and the efforts he made in shark conservation.

After about 45 minutes of calling and recalling the hotel because I got tired of listening to the phone ring endlessly, I finally got a non-smoking room booked! For the moment, it's just me on my lonesome, since my friend hasn't decided whether or not she's going to go. I may have to cancel later to change arrival date, but I'm not sure yet. I have my vacation tentatively scheduled for the week of the 30th, but I still haven't really decided if I'm going to take it that week, or the week of the 23rd. Gah! Too many decisions! My head is going to go 'splodey!

I am so feeling the Orlando love! Elizabethtown ended up being one of those movies that I wasn't sure about at first, but made me adore it after I was done watching. And the scenes of him dancing....I got struck by the giggles. Just too funny.

And I dyed my hair brown last night. It turned out kind of a reddish brown, but it still doesn't look too bad.
