Oct. 31st, 2005 01:35 pmWent to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. I adore Johnny Depp....but I'm glad I only paid $1.50 to see it. I couldn't help comparing it to both the book and the movie with Gene Wilder. It was definitely closer to the book than the earlier version, but I don't recall Willy Wonka being quite that twisted. And I don't remember his father coming into the picture at all.
And when Christopher Lee came onscreen, I poked my mom and said "it's Saruman!! you know, from Lord of the Rings!" I'm rather surprised that she didn't hit me. *snicker*
Birthday coming up in a week or two. Can't say that I'm really looking forward to it. Especially since I know I'm not going to be able to really go and do anything. I had had plans to go back to the LOTR exhibit, this time with my dad, but that looks like it's going to fall through. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed though! Cause that would be an awesome birthday for me....even though I know he wouldn't be as into it as I was, I'd still like to watch the expressions that cross his face. And if nothing else, I'll go by myself. Everyone else be damned! But it is more fun to have someone there with you to enjoy it with. *le sigh*
I do have something to look forward to this weekend. My old DM is running a game this weekend, so I get to pick up the mantle of my kender once again. This makes me happy, since I don't get to see the friends that will be playing very often. :)
